*This event is for Faculty and Staff*

“The Ethics of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Civility: Translating Aspirational Concepts into Professional Practice”

Heidi Huber, MSW, LCSW-C
Director of the Wellness Center
McDaniel College

This conference will be an opportunity for authentic engagement with the critically important concepts of equity, diversity, inclusion and civility. Together, we’ll consider what these aspirational ideas really look like in action, and how we can apply them in our various professional roles—with our clients, colleagues, supervisees and supervisors. Bridging the gap between these aspirational goals and their practical application is an ongoing ethical mandate that we must consistently pursue through key strategies and skill development. Experiential self-reflection, authentic dialogue and case scenarios will guide participants through a meaningful exploration of how direct engagement with our differences and confrontation of injustices, both past and present, can lead to more fully realizing equity, diversity, inclusion and civility in our professional relationships, institutions and communities.
