This training will discuss the processes of programming a new Augmentative Alternative Communication (AAC) system, activities for introducing AAC in the home and community settings, and ways to build collaborative relationships between school, home, and community providers.

Presentation Objectives:

Presenter: Melissa Folsom Subock, MS, CCC-SLP, is a speech-language pathologist who has worked at the Center for Autism and Related Disorders (CARD) for nine years. She specializes in the assessment and treatment of children and adolescents with emerging communication abilities. She provides Augmentative Alternative Communication (AAC) evaluations and treatment at CARD and mentors staff on expanding the services we are able to offer minimally- verbal children with autism spectrum disorder.
