Dr. Roma Vasa will present the training “Managing Anxiety in Children and Adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder” as part of the CARD Winter Training Series, a special virtual live and on-demand event, on Tuesday, March 30, 2021, 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Healthcare professionals and researchers working in the autism spectrum disorder (ASD) field, family members, and community members are all welcome to register at www.KennedyKriegerCARD.Eventbrite.com. Professionals will be able to earn continuing education units (CEUs) for a small fee.
This training will review the prevalence and characteristics of anxiety in individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Various clinical presentations of anxiety will be discussed across different age groups and levels of functioning. The latest evidence on treatments, medications, and therapy will be presented.
About the Speaker:
Roma Vasa, MD, is a developmental neuropsychiatrist and the director of psychiatric services at Kennedy Krieger Institute’s Center for Autism and Related Disorders (CARD). Dr. Vasa oversees the Psychiatry Training Program within the CARD, sees children between the ages of 3 – 25 in her clinical practice, and focuses on anxiety in children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) in her research.
