Special Lecture: Past, Present, and Future of Pediatric Stroke Research: Pivoting from Prevention to Recovery

 Dr. Heather Fullerton is a pediatric vascular neurologist and NIH-funded investigator at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital.  A long-standing member of the International Pediatric Stroke Study (IPSS), a research consortium established in 2003, she recently led the IPSS incorporation as a 501c3 non-profit—the International Pediatric Stroke Organization (IPSO) —and serves as the founding president.  She will speak to the history of IPSS accomplishments and the goals of IPSO moving forward, including the need to increase efforts aimed at improving pediatric stroke recovery and outcomes
