The Speech-Language Training Seminar is for all speech-language Clinical Fellows across the Institute. (Speech-language pathologists and audiologists complete a nine-month training process that is call the Clinical Fellowship Year or CFY. This is true for all SLP’s, not just ones at KKI. After individuals successfully complete their CFY’s, they become Certified SLP’s through our national organization.) The seminar is held from September to May of each year. Topics include a range of issues related to the communication disorders field. From September to December the topics are ones new professionals need to be aware of (e.g., sharing difficult information with families, behavior management, etc.). Participants identify additional topics that are discussed from January to May.
