This class is for Professionals in training in Psychology, Social Work and Counseling provide direct service at the Center and in the Department’s Therapeutic Foster Care Program. In addition, they participate in seminars, Clinical Labs, supervision and other learning experiences over the course of the training year.
The Department of Family and Community Interventions (DFCI) helps children and families affected by adverse experiences related to trauma & developmental disabilities obtain support and tools necessary to reach their full potential.
The Center for Child and Family Traumatic Stress (Center) is one of three service programs of DFCI. The Center provides evidence-supported treatment and assessment services for traumatized children and their families, training in trauma-informed intervention approaches, and research on the causes, consequences and treatment of child and family trauma.
The Clinical Labs provide an applied and practical learning experience focused on family, individual and group psychotherapies for children and families affected by traumatic exposures. Clinical Labs are only open to current trainees and will occur on Thursdays from 10:00-11:30, starting September 5, 2019 and ending April 2, 2020.
